Member Benefits

Benefits are afforded to all categories of membership with the exception of the Manager-in-Transition program which is reserved for Full Members.

  • Participation in a statewide professional association governed by a Code of Ethics.

  • Training events designed specifically for the professional development of municipal managers and administrators.

  • The opportunity to receive a Professional Development Certificate for those completing the Association’s Professional Development Program.

  • Legal, professional and moral support for members who find themselves out of work through no fault of their own.

  • An opportunity to meet managers and administrators from around the state and develop networking opportunities that often produce new friendships, mentoring opportunities, career enhancement opportunities, and information sharing experiences.

  • Publications including the Member Handbook, a quarterly newsletter published in the Pennsylvania Municipal League's Municipal Reporter magazine, the Municipal Job Junction+ (MJJ+) service, and the Legislative Locator newsletter.

  • The Association’s Recognition Program provides members information on the nature of the manager’s role within a particular local government structure.

  • Access to the ICMA Coaching program, including free webinars.

Sponsoring Member Benefits

  • Access to the APMM Membership Directory containing an alphabetical and a municipal listing of all members.

  • Sponsoring members are listed in the APMM Membership Directory and often called on first when members are seeking specific services.

  • A 10% discount on exhibit booth space at the Annual APMM Conference.

  • A listing in APMM's Annual Conference program book.

  • Sponsoring members have the option of registering for the Annual Conference as a "walk-around" vendor in lieu of purchasing exhibit booth space.

  • Sponsoring members have access to APMM's "Members Only" web page which includes the online directory.


Becoming a Member

Membership is open to all appointed local government officials. For questions and/or more information regarding membership, contact Amanda Lane at alane@pml.org.

Completion of a membership application form is necessary to become an APMM member. The application requests standard biographical information. Applicants for Full and Associate member status must sign the affirmation to signify their willingness to adhere to the Code of Ethics and must secure the endorsement of two full members of APMM. If you do not know any APMM members, the Secretariat will assist you in securing the required endorsements.
